Monster Infrequent Farming Spots (running list)

Titan Quest features SO MANY items.  Whether it's armor - helms, chestplates, armguards, and legguards; weapons - my beloved clubs, swords, spears, bows, and staves; or rings/amulets (btw, where do shields fit into all this?), there are hundreds if not thousands of unique items with a diversity of stat affixes!  You have Rare items, Epic items, and Legendary items.  While Rare items are pretty dime-a-dozen, Epic and Legendary items are uber-rare and highly sought after (if you don't believe me about the rarity, check out TQ Database and these items' Loot Table drop rates.  One super-cool category of unique items - and that you cannot find in Diablo IV - is the Monster Infrequent.  Monster Infrequents, or MIs, are specific to a specific monster type, and in some instances, specific to an individual monster.  For instance, you want to get your hands on an Ichthian Whomper (and yes, not a BK Whopper)?  Well, you aren't going to find one fighting Dragonkin or Tigermen.  You are better off visiting the Babylon Outskirts and a rendezvous with some Ichthian fishmen.

I am not even close to finishing Titan Quest, and exploring all it has to offer, but I intend to use this post as a running list from my experience finding, or farming for, specific MIs.  If you are looking for a list of best Monster Infrequents and best beginner Monster Infrequents then, my boy, Almar has you covered here and here, respectively.

Typically, my pursuit of MIs stems from my obsession with finding obscure maces, and then stumbling upon other MIs along the way.  I will identify when a mace is among the MIs available.  In no specific order, here goes...

  • Alfheim MIs
    • Includes:  Bracers, Helm, Boots, and Tunic
    • Farm here:  Asgard-Greensward up to Gladsheim
  • Valhöll MIs
    • Includes:  Armguards, Helm, Harness, and Buskins
    • Farm here:  Gladsheim and Valhöll; Asgard-Greensward
  • Reefguard MIs (btw, these are some of the coolest looking MIs!)
    • Includes:  Bracers, Helmet, Greaves, Shell, Barrier, Projector (bow), Spike (spear), Ripper, (axe), Scepter, Sabre (sword)
    • Farm here:  Coral Temples and into the Cave through the Catacombs (take the Gaulos Portal)
  • Reefmage MIs
    • Includes:  Armlets, Crown, Sandals, Sash
    • Farm here:  Coral Temples and into the Cave through the Catacombs (take the Gaulos Portal)
  • Doomfang MIs
    • Includes:  Livery (chest armor), and Striker (bow)
    • Farm here:  Gadir Outskirts up through the Coral Temples, but not into the Cave (take the Gaulos Portal)
  • Goldfang MIs
    • Includes:  Goldfang Battle Axe, Goldfang Mace, and Goldfang Khopesh (sword)
    • Farm here:  Gadir Outskirts up through the Coral Temples, but not into the Cave (take the Gaulos Portal)
  • Necropolis MIs
    • Includes:  Armbands, Circlet (helm), Wraps (arms), Gown (chest), and Staff
    • Farm here:  Gadir Necropolis, including underground tombs
  • Ancient Tartessian MIs
    • Includes:  Armplates, Mask (helm), Legplates, Plate (chest), Bow, Spike (spear), Rune Axe (have not yet dropped one!), Mace (super rare, I only have one!), Blade (sword)
    • Farm here:  Gadir Necropolis (above-ground portions only)
  • Ichthian (aka Fishmen) MIs, part 1
    • Includes:  Oracle's Crown (helm), Vestment (spell caster chest), Aegis (melee chest), Harpoon (spear), and Whomper 
    • Farm here:  Babylon Outskirts
  • Ichthian MIs, part 2
    • Includes:  Shell (shield), Stinger (bow), Spine (spear; haven't landed this yet!)
    • Farm here:  Icththian Fjord, including Ichthian Grotto cave (go to Scandia portal, head SW to the port, and hitch a boat ride with Nidbald to Kaupangr)
  • Of the Deep MIs (more Fishmen drops!)
    • Includes:  Bracelets, Crown, Guards (legs), Raiment (chest), and Staff
    • Farm here:  Icththian Fjord, including Ichthian Grotto cave (go to Scandia portal, head SW to the port, and hitch a boat ride with Nidbald to Kaupangr)
  • Dvergr MIs
    • Includes:  Runestones, Dvergr-Forged Battle Axe (pretty darn rare drop!), Dvergr-Forged Edge Mace, and Dvergr-Forged Longsword (pretty rare as well)
    • Farm here:  Hall of the Dvergrs and Dvergr Mines (Dvergr skeletons outside these areas can drop as well, but in my experience, infrequently)
  • Master Forge MIs
    • Includes:  Armbands, Helmet, Greaves, and Cuirass
    • Farm here:  Hall of the Dvergrs & Dvergr Mines (Dvergr skeletons outside these areas can drop as well, and from my experience, better chance than the Dvergr MIs)
  • Triton MIs
    • Includes:  Armor (chest, Ragnarök version), Deep Sea Trident (spear)
    • Farm here:  Corinth Harbor Quarter to and including Lechaion Harbor

INTRODUCTION

  I won’t bore you with a Shakespearean soliloquy, but wanted to share a tick about myself.  I am a late-blooming ARPG fanatic borne of the pandemic.  What got me hooked was Grim Dawn .  I have since been blasting through Diablo IV , put a minute into Last Epoch , and am now squarely in the Titan Quest camp.  Why TQ ?  Like GD , there are HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of unique items to farm and hoard.  An obsession for collecting and inflicting pain on monsters with mace weapons that started in GD fully blossomed with the HELLHammer in D4 .  And now, thanks to TQ Database [https://tq-db.net/en], I have a comprehensive index of unique maces to hunt down in the world of Titan Quest .
